New opportunities for observation have appeared at the Rehab Center. By watching the animals from a bird's eye view with the use of a quadcopter, it becomes possible to find their favorite places for rest, which are inaccessible for a conventional camera, as well as to identify the pathways by which they prefer moving around the enclosure. The enclosure of the tigress Filya occupies about 1 ha. Its territory includes a hill, a pool, a small plot with thick vegetation and tall trees, and numerous solitary bushes. The tigress' favorite place for rest proved to be at the center of the enclosure, hidden under a small bush. Nevertheless, she dislikes visiting the overgrown plot with trees, probably, due to its proximity to the enclosure with the spotted neighbor.
The staff of the Rehabilitation Center (PRNCO “Tiger Center”) would like to express their acknowledgements for the joint work and cooperation to the “Land of the Leopard” National Park, the autonomous non-commercial organization (ANO) “Amur Leopard”, ANO “Amur Tiger Center”, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the “Phoenix” Fund, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the Primorsky Safari Park, OAO AK “Transneft”, the chief veterinarian of the Moscow Zoo Alshinetsky Mikhail Valerievich, and the veterinarians of the “Nika” animal hospital.
